An education loan for abroad studies in Kochi can come from a public sector bank, a private bank or an NBFC. It is either secured — backed by property or a fixed deposit — or unsecured, decided on the co-applicant's income and credit record. DreamDestination helps you work out the amount, choose the route and prepare the file, free of charge. We do not lend, and we take no commission from lenders.
Loan delays usually come from applying too early with half a file, or too late for the visa. For students in Kochi the fix is the same: get the offer letter and cost breakdown first, settle who the co-applicant is, then apply once to a lender that actually funds your country and university.

Education Loan Options in Kochi for Studying Abroad
Secured vs unsecured education loan in Kochi
Lenders offer two broad routes. With collateral — a house, flat, plot or fixed deposit — the amount can be higher and the decision rests on the security as well as the student. Without collateral, the lender looks at the co-applicant's income and credit record and at how it rates the university and course, and caps the amount accordingly. For a family in Kochi the choice comes down to how much is needed and what they are prepared to pledge.
We are an education consultancy, not a bank, NBFC or lending agent, and we take no commission from any lender. Approval, amount, interest rate and collateral requirements are always the lender's decision.
Nothing in this service needs a visit from Kochi. You share documents digitally and meet your counsellor by video call or phone, at a time that suits a student or someone in a job. The process and the person are the same as for a student in a metro.
This page is written for final-year students, recent graduates and working professionals in Kochi, Kerala planning a master's or another course abroad, and for the parents helping them decide. Kochi is also searched as Cochin. The same service is available to students in Kasaragod, Manjeri, Idukki and Malappuram, and across the rest of Kerala.
Subject to the lender's own caps, an education loan for overseas studies usually pays for:
Tuition and course fees paid to the university
Accommodation and reasonable living expenses
One-way airfare and travel costs
Student health and travel insurance
Books, equipment and a laptop where the course needs one
Exam, library and lab fees; refundable deposits within lender limits
Documents for an Education Loan in Kochi
Have these ready before the first application. A complete file is the single biggest factor in how quickly a lender decides.
Admission or offer letter with the full fee structure
Academic records — 10th, 12th and degree marksheets
English test / GRE / GMAT scorecards where required
KYC for student and co-applicant (ID, address, photographs)
Co-applicant income proof — salary slips or ITRs, and bank statements
Collateral documents, where a secured loan is being taken
A written breakdown of total cost and your own contribution
Passport, and visa documents once available
Kerala Education Loan Schemes
Students domiciled in Kerala may be able to use the Education Loan Repayment Support Scheme, administered by Government of Kerala / Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation. The state repays a reported 20% of the loan, capped around ₹1 lakh, over five years from the start of repayment, with a small one-time grant toward the first EMI. A separate interest subsidy runs for backward-community students. Eligibility: Kerala domicile; scheme-specific income and community criteria apply. Terms change, so confirm the current rules with the administering department before you rely on it.
A refusal from one lender is not a refusal from all of them. Ask for the reason in writing, fix that specific gap — co-applicant, collateral, course or documents — and reapply to a lender whose criteria fit.
