An education loan for abroad studies in Coimbatore can come from a public sector bank, a private bank or an NBFC. It is either secured — backed by property or a fixed deposit — or unsecured, decided on the co-applicant's income and credit record. DreamDestination helps you work out the amount, choose the route and prepare the file, free of charge. We do not lend, and we take no commission from lenders.
Before you visit a bank branch in Coimbatore, know three numbers: the full cost of the course and living expenses, what your family can pay without borrowing, and the gap between them. That gap — not the fee printed on the offer letter — is what the loan has to cover.

Education Loan Options in Coimbatore for Studying Abroad
Secured vs unsecured education loan in Coimbatore
A secured loan is backed by residential property, a fixed deposit or another asset and generally allows a higher amount. An unsecured loan relies on the co-applicant's income and credit history and on the university and course, and usually has a lower limit. Which one suits a student in Coimbatore depends on the amount needed, the destination and what the family is willing to pledge.
We are an education consultancy, not a bank, NBFC or lending agent, and we take no commission from any lender. Approval, amount, interest rate and collateral requirements are always the lender's decision.
Nothing in this service needs a visit from Coimbatore. You share documents digitally and meet your counsellor by video call or phone, at a time that suits a student or someone in a job. The process and the person are the same as for a student in a metro.
This page is written for final-year students, recent graduates and working professionals in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu planning a master's or another course abroad, and for the parents helping them decide. The same service is available to students in Tambaram, Karur, Dindigul and Rajapalayam, and across the rest of Tamil Nadu.
Within each lender's own limits, an overseas education loan — a loan for studying abroad — typically funds:
Tuition and course fees paid to the university
Accommodation and reasonable living expenses
One-way airfare and travel costs
Student health and travel insurance
Books, equipment and a laptop where the course needs one
Exam, library and lab fees; refundable deposits within lender limits
Documents for an Education Loan in Coimbatore
Collect these before you approach any lender. Missing or inconsistent documents are the commonest reason a loan file stalls.
Admission or offer letter with the full fee structure
Academic records — 10th, 12th and degree marksheets
English test / GRE / GMAT scorecards where required
KYC for student and co-applicant (ID, address, photographs)
Co-applicant income proof — salary slips or ITRs, and bank statements
Collateral documents, where a secured loan is being taken
A written breakdown of total cost and your own contribution
Passport, and visa documents once available
Tamil Nadu Education Loan Schemes
Students domiciled in Tamil Nadu may be able to use the TAMCO Subsidised Loan Scheme, administered by Tamil Nadu Minorities Economic Development Corporation (TAMCO). Subsidised loans for students from minority communities. Eligibility: Tamil Nadu domicile; family income reported between ₹1.03 lakh and ₹6 lakh. Terms change, so confirm the current rules with the administering department before you rely on it.
Being turned down by one lender does not mean every lender will say no. Get the reason in writing, deal with that particular weakness — the co-applicant, the security, the course or the paperwork — and then approach a lender whose criteria you meet.
